![]() If your connection is so bad that it's getting flagged for network abuse then I'm sorry but you simply cannot be fun to play with/against in PvP. The other thing I'm not seeing discussed here is the guys internet. Personally I think this is nonsense and is more akin to throwing baby out with bathwater, the Destiny community has proven itself time and time again with projects like DIM, Light.gg, Raid Report, Today in Destiny, Where the fuck is Xur, ect and I simply do not believe that this point was made in good faith. Solely because I’d expect this community to redeploy it as-is but plastered with ads within 2 days of it going public." There's been a big shift in mentality over the years to "Cathedral modding" which is essentially the mentality that the more you share the better the results can be. Perhaps it's because I've spent so much time following the Skyrim modding community and have seen numerous great projects die off due to drama and creators leaving that I tend to look unfavourably upon those that provide tools to the community and withhold them when they are done. You can setup open source licences that allow you to take back the project at will. So many useful features that exist, but for some reason cannot be implemented into the actual game. Nope that has to be relegated to a separate app too. Why do I need a separate app to move it with just 2 buttons? And then there's Lfg's for a game that wants you to have other players because the game has no matchmaking to find players for, but asks you to have other players for. If you want to organize between characters, you have to logout with one, log in with another, store it, then log out and back into the one you want, back to storage and retrieve what you want. The companion app can sort by power level, item type, and damage type, but the vault in game cannot? Instead you got newest (which the app doesn't have, so even more confusing) and quantity (which doesn't even work, looks like a mess). ![]() Hell, while it's not related to the post I don't understand why we need an entire separate app for equipment moving or even some basic sorting options. Why do we need a 3rd party app for that in 2022? Or guns have a wide variety of perk rolls to compare against each other. ![]() With all the clutter, having things that help make sense, organize, and get the most out of when especially armor has 10ths of a point you have to figure out to get the most out of your armor, that also get even more when masterworked. Personally, I still don't understand why its features aren't just built into the game. I sure as shit wouldn't trust my projects to someone else. It was his project, and we just happened to benefit massively because of his efforts and I efinitrly believe there'd a sense of entitlement coming from community users over his refusal to pass it on. Now, I loved Gunsmith, it was the best site for ease of use for comparing rolls and choosing what to aim for due to its clean presentation and no bullshit UI, but im not gonna fault the guy for shutting down the project instead of delegating it to someone else. The reaction to this by people online has been super fucking salty too. There's definitely been some horror stories from community members fighting months long appeal processes when they end up being falsely banned in similar scenarios. His core argument about the ban and reversal of it stick hard with the average person since he straight up believes he was unbanned because of who he was, without even making an appeal, and contrasting what his life could have been like if he wasnt a known community contributer. Honestly I respect the dude for sticking to his guns about this. ![]()
